Losing Weight with Juicing Part 2

Okay, here is the rest of the story I started to tell you about my friend who desperately tried to lose weight quickly.

She showed me a pill container and frankly I cannot remember the name of the product anymore, but it said something along the lines of “fat-blaster”. I was shocked. I tried everything to talk her out of that plan, but she had her heart set. And even worse, her soon to be husband actually encouraged her to go on. He felt that she could lose a few pounds, because he wanted her to be in “presentable shape” before he gives his final commitment to her. Well, I refrained from telling him what my thoughts were on the whole thing, but I couldn’t resist asking him about the last time he actually saw himself in the mirror.

Anyway, of course it didn’t work and my friend eventually and after complaining for weeks about constipation, nausea and at some point even about problems with breathing, through out the whole container of pills. And along with it, a lot of money. Well, by the time she got married, she still was overweight. But about one year later, probably encouraged by my successes with my juicing, she got curious and wanted to try it, too.  Her plan this time: substitute one round of juicing with one complete meal and keep going to the gym as often as possible. Now I have to say that she was very disciplined and discipline does take efforts. But she made it. I actually don’t know how much she lost. I never asked her that question, but everybody could see her transforming  – slowly but steadily. Along with the weight loss, she had another, even more important victory to celebrate; she got rid of her high blood pressure and pre diabetes. There was one huge downside to the whole thing, unfortunately. She has to buy a new wardrobe, but as far as I can tell, she loved it and was very proud to through out her old and now over-sized clothes.

And I lost weight, too. Not all of that can only be attributed to juicing of course. Juicing is just one, yet, very important part of the whole “living healthy program”. Exercise, avoiding some foods that are not god for you and eating the right things in general, are key to a successful weight loss program.

Well, I am a happy juicer – especially since the Jack Lalanne Power Juicer sits on our kitchen counter!
