People often ask me why I am so excited about juicing. Well, if you read through my previous posts, I already talked about the healthy effects it has on you, starting from boosting your immune system, helping you in the fight against a myriad of diseases and discomforts, etc. And I guess there is even another huge benefit if you consume freshly pressed juices on a regular basis (remember, that is very important – if you just get yourself to drink a glass of fresh juice every once in a while, you don’t get the most out of the benefits – do it every day and if you can, do it twice a day!) ….it can help you losing weight. No, let me rephrase that to a more correct statement: I will help you losing weight HEALTHY. Yes. Whenever I see my friends who carry around a little (or a lot) more weight than they actually should running to see a doctor, seeking a wonder-pill that blasts off the pounds over night, I get really upset. Not only are those things completely worthless and ridiculously expensive, they can actually be also extremely dangerous for you. I have one friend in particular who fell for one of those quackery products. She always struggled with her weight and by the time she finally got engaged and ready to get married, she wanted to lose weight to get in decent shape for her wedding. She was very serious about that and had it all planned out. I was curious so I asked her about her plan and how she intended to lose a significant amount of weight in a relatively short amount of time. She said that she plans to go to the fitness studio at least three times a week. I applauded her for that, because exercising is one of the most important things to do for everybody, overweight or not. Then I asked her about her eating habits and if she was serious in cutting things out of her diet, namely all the fat and sugar. I was quite surprised when she shook her head but instead showed me what her “doctor” had her prescribed with, in order to resolve all her problems in no time, along with the promise that she will look stunning by the time of her upcoming wedding. I really couldn’t believe what I saw. You will read the continuation of this story in my next post….
